Coach Pat Amico started coaching basketball at the Potoski gym in Las Vegas, Nevada, in 1978. Throughout his career he has coached, trained, and worked with thousands of athletes from youth basketball players to NBA stars. Coach Amico moved to Florida in 2005 to work for IMG Academies, where the top professional players train, live and play at the 200 acre facility.
After serving as a head basketball coach and recruiting specialist for IMG Academies, he returned to Las Vegas as the General Manager for AIB Impact Basketball, which trains multiple college and NBA players, such as Kevin Garnett, Chauncey Billups, and Tayshaun Prince. Coach Amico has now returned to the element of the game he loves the most, coaching youth basketball. Working with young players provides him the opportunity to develop middle or high school players into college athletes.
Coach Amico, General Manager of National Recruiting, has created a successful training and college placement program in 24/7 Hoops, Inc. The program is designed for athletes to develop individual skills, play on teams and, with Coach Amico’s assistance, have the opportunity to play at the next level. His youth teams have participated in various regional and national tournaments, including AAU, ARC, YBOA, NJB, BCI, Adidas, and Nike, and has won four National Titles. Coach Amico has been invited to and has served as a coach of elite players at the national Adidas Jr. Phenom Camp and the Adidas Phenom 150 Camp. As of June of 2008, Coach Amico has placed nine of the 24/7 Hoops, Inc.’s thirteen seniors into college programs.
